Swords, Sweat & Synths: A Long Beach Studio Day with Peter J. Hook & DJ Cleo Cassettra

Some days the vibe is chill. Other days, it’s full fantasy cosplay, old-school cassette decks, and just enough sweat to feel like you earned the shots. Today was one of those days—and I’m not mad about it.

We shot with two incredible performers who couldn’t be more different, but both came through with vision and serious heat. Literally. It was like 85° in the studio. No regrets.

⚔️ First up: Peter J. Hook Goes Full Middle-Earth

This was our second shoot with Peter J. Hook—adult performer, creative soul, and all-around cool dude. This time, he came in ready with a concept: a Lord of the Rings–inspired fantasy shoot. We’re talking cloak, sword, rugged attitude, and that medieval flair that brings a little drama and a lot of muscle to the frame.

We got moody lighting. We got power poses. We got some sexy shots too—because obviously. Despite the heat, Peter absolutely crushed it, and we created some of my favorite fantasy-themed studio portraits to date.

This is the kind of client I live for—someone who brings a wild idea and fully commits. No half-ass cosplay here. Just real energy and a little sweaty magic.

Then we switched gears with local cassette DJ @cleomunster, who booked one of our Quick and Dirty Studio Specials—just $150 for 30 minutes and 8 edited photos. Perfect for artists, DJs, musicians, or anyone who needs cute promo photos on a budget.

Cleo showed up with her gear and some major style. Retro vibes, cute looks, and pure charisma. She nailed it in half an hour, and the results? Chef’s kiss. These shots are going to look killer on flyers, socials, and wherever else cassette-core lives.
