This time, we decided to take things to the next level by shooting entirely on film. The results? Moody, cinematic portraits that truly capture Riley’s alternative goth style in a way that digital photos just can’t replicate.
For this session, we used Cinestill 800T film stock, one of my absolute favorites for its rich tones and cinematic color profile. If you’ve never seen it before, Cinestill 800T has a way of pulling in deep blues, glowing reds, and a slightly dreamy grain that makes every frame feel like it belongs on the big screen. It’s a film that loves neon, loves texture, and loves bold style—and Riley delivered on all fronts.
The combination of her goth aesthetic with the colors of Cinestill created portraits that feel equal parts stylish, edgy, and timeless. Every shot had that intangible something—the kind of texture and vibe that makes film so special.
Riley isn’t just a great model—she’s genuinely a joy to work with. She always shows up with a positive energy, and she’s open to exploring creative ideas that push a shoot beyond the ordinary. Whether it’s bold poses, dramatic looks, or experimenting with lighting, she’s down for it. That openness makes it easy to collaborate and create portraits that feel authentic and powerful.
We’ve photographed Riley a few times now, and every time, we come away inspired. Her alternative goth style adds character and edge, and it’s always exciting to see how her personality shines through in each session.
If you’re a model in Long Beach or Los Angeles looking for a photographer, this is exactly the kind of work we love to do. Whether you’re into alternative fashion, goth style, creative portraits, or you just want to try something different, we can help bring your vision to life.
Our Long Beach photography studio is set up for both digital and film work, so you can get the best of both worlds—crisp modern images and warm, cinematic film photos. Sessions like the one with Riley show how powerful it can be when a model’s personal style meets the right environment and film stock.
If you’re ready to build your portfolio, experiment with film photography, or just have fun creating something unique, we’d love to work with you.
